Growing up we start out as such innocent creatures of life. We look at the world in a light that no one else can understand. We may look at a butterfly and think it is the most magical being in the world. As we watch this butterfly we may follow it around waiting in anticipation to see where this magnificent being will land. Little do we know that we are all butterflies growing up and God watches us in amazement. He watches us to see us fly around in our journey we call life and waits to see where we will land. All God wants is for us to land in his hands, so each day he looks after us holding out his hands waiting in anticipation. Sometimes, in life, we may run into hard weather but God is always there to guide us through the storms of life. He walks side by side with us guiding us with his hands. We just need to learn to trust in the Lord and know that all will be well.
Even though I did not realize it sometimes, God was walking me through my life. He protected me from harm and got me out of some rough situations. As you will read in this book, I went through some hard times in my life. Many times, when I was going through the rough storms, I thought I was alone, but I wasn’t. God was there with me, watching over me, I just did not realize it at the time.
Growing up, my mom and dad raised me well and instilled great values in me. For a time, I was raised in church but as I got older I slipped away from time to time, until one day I went back and stayed. I started to write when I was 14 years old. One day I was sitting there watching a movie and words came to my head. I wrote them down and it was then that I realized that I liked writing my feelings down. I continued to write throughout my life. I wrote of love, life and pain. When I got older I decided to publish my first book “Unknown Love”, which is basically the story of my life from child to womanhood written in poetry form. Two years later I published “The Light Will Shine Through”, which is a collection of poetry I wrote within a year’s time.
I wrote this book to tell my story. Growing up and as a young adult, I went through some things that still weigh on my mind to this day. I figured that writing about it would help me to get it out. In this book you will read about some of the relationships I had as a young adult, the molestations that I endured when I was a child, and some other things that I went through. This is my survival story and how I survived With God’s Hands.
FEEL LOVE
Many times over I have expressed the way I feel
Saying that my feelings were true…that they were real
Many times I thought they were
Now I am unsure
For I have found a love much greater than ever before
One that makes me tingle and my heart sore
One that I want to be with forever more
And one that I want to love forever more
So I ask you this …
Have you ever experienced a love that causes you extreme bliss?
Have you ever had a love so great
That when you are not around then in any way your heart just plain aches
That when you speak to them your heart skips a beat
Your body fills with a cooling heat
Well I have experienced this kind of love
And in no way will I ever give it a shove
I will run freely to this love
Open up my arms, heart, body and soul to this love
For I am infatuated and elated with the way it makes me feel
Knowing that I am loved through and through this time for real
For when I listen to the words said
I know that they are not just to fill my head
They are sincere, compassionate and true of all nature
This is the kind of love that is developed and mature
The kind that has learned from life experience
The kind as if from a time of renaissance
Pure love is what is after me
So I say let it be
Let me love and be loved
Forever do I want to be loved
Forever do I want to give my love
Forever do I want to give my love
For the feelings that I get inside
Every time this love is by my side
Are so immense to contain
That I want to tell all who remain
To let them know the way I feel
And KNOW that this time it is most definitely real
I can honestly say that I am deeply in love
That of me this love is genuinely in love
Many times over I have expressed the way I feel
Saying that my feelings were true…that they were real
Many times I thought they were
Now I am unsure
For I have found a love much greater than ever before
One that makes me tingle and my heart sore

BE WITH YOU
To spend one night with you
That is all I ask
To spend one night with you
This should be no task
When two hearts feel the way we do
When two hearts are torn by distance
When two hearts become one from two
There will be no more resistance
Trapped in a universe I wish to be of free
Trapped in a universe where I cannot be me
Longing for your touch
Longing to feel you inside of me
For the slightest touch; the slightest brush
Move around in ecstasy
To be with you from the end until now
If you’ll let me; I’ll show you how
For the way I feel about you
If I didn’t; I would be blue
Oh let me express the way that I feel
To let you know that what I feel is real
Let me hold you until the end of time
From the day you become mine

IN TIMES OF NEED
I will pray for you in your time on need
Just know that in this time of sorrow
God has sown a new seed
God is with you today and always tomorrow
Know that even with your heart ever so sore
God has opened many of doors
And what has come to past
Will forever in your heart last
And know that with your lonely cries
The love you have will never die
And in times of despair
Know that he is always there
He will be watching over you every minute of every day
He will be watching your very step in every way
In heart and soul he will be there for you everyday
And know that God has for you many plans
And will forever me holding your fragile hands
Know that the love your father had for you
Will never die and live forever within you
In your heart he will live forever
And his memory will fade never
He is and always will care
He is and always will be there
He is watching over you
He is watching over you

GRADUATION…NEW BEGINNING
In this time which is a new beginning
It is a time for winning and not losing
It is a time to take everything
And make it forever lasting
Remember your friends
For they will always be your friends
Remember all the good times
Remember all the bad times
For these consume your life
These will shape your upcoming life
You may say to yourself “I don’t want anything to be different”
“I don’t want to take anything for granted”
Thus leaving you with one more thing wanted
You may wish that you had done some things different
Yet if you had, your whole life today would be different
And so with these turning of events that lay in your hands
Take all of your friends by the hand
Look them in the eye
And never say goodbye
For a time of graduation
Is a time of celebration
So remember your friends
For they will always be your friends
Tackle the world together
For you will always be one, united together
Take this time of celebration and make the most of it
For graduation, shared with family and friends
Is one of life’s most precious gifts
It is a new beginning and not an end
It is life staring you in the face
A life full of grace
So remember your friends
For they will always be your friends
Take this graduation
And make it one of your biggest celebrations
For today you are graduating
Today you are starting a new beginning

IN AWE OF YOU
I am taken by you
In awe of you
Consumed by your every word
Taken by your wonderful voice
And the conversations that we hold
Bring joy to my life and I feel peace
For when we speak I am gripped with tranquility
And I can feel you gentle touch laid upon me
And the likeness of your face
Puts me in a comfortable place
For when I look at you
I see a beautiful man I like, of whom
You see me in a way no one ever has
And now alas
I have someone who looks to the inner me
Someone who truly does see
I am taken by you
In awe of you
For when I need you
When I need it the most
You become a wonderful host
Of whom listens and lends an ear
One who is far, yet is very near
This, in your kindness, is what you do
There for me in a blink of an eye
Just as the stars sparkle in the night sky
I am taken by you
In awe of you
For you are one of whom truly listens
When I need it the most, a deep conversation
I am taken by you
I am in awe of you

MOVE ON
I want to move on
Turn night into dawn
I want to move on
Create a new chapter; a new song
For the days have become night
And the nights become a new fight
The endeavors that have been endured
Seem not to have been cured
And long, long is it overdue
For a fresh, to start anew
I want to move on
Turn night into dawn
Yet the restrictions placed upon my heart
Hinder me from a new start
SO I ASK…
What is a new beginning?
What is a complete end?
And what is the fine line that divides the two?
For in this world of inner planetary movement
In the middle of the swirling and spinning
The losing and the winning
What is our true placement?
And even though the sun shines
As the stars shine
Slowly they begin to faintly fade
Until one day they are just a mere shade
SO I ASK…
What is our place?
Will we make the final race?
For I do want to move on
Turn night into dawn
Yet the restrictions placed upon my heart
Hinder me from a new start
Yet I want to move on
I want to move on.

TWO THOUSAND AND SEVEN
What I learned in two thousand and seven
Is that every day is a new chance to start again
There is always a chance for a new beginning
Every time the morning birds are singing
And what I learned is that some things may come easy
While the others may come hard
And while some things can be fixed with a card
Others don't repair that easy
Yet if you take each day with a fresh step
Make it a point to create that new start
Then each day you will be able to recollect
The pieces of your heart.
Each day you will walk each foot one further
While the rough edges become slowly smoother
And I have learned that if you look someone in the eye
No longer will you be withdrawn
No longer will you be shy
Yet seek each day for the new dawn
And as courage you find
Press, always, to be kind.
What I learned in two thousand and seven
Is that you need not strive to get even
Love as you wish to be loved
And pull near everyone
Give not to any, a shove
Love and forgive
Give yourself the chance to truly live
Hold not onto grudges
And give not any nudges
For what I have learned in two thousand and seven
Is that every day is a new chance to start again
There is always a chance for a new beginning
Every time the morning birds are singing
